What is the significance of the extension schema? http://www.liquibase.org/xml/ns/dbchangelog/dbchangelog-ext.xsd is an empty XSD document. Is this on purpose, or only because there’s nothing in it yet?

It’s there to be an XSD schema people can use if they don’t want to design their own. You could perhaps just use no xsd for your namespace, but I think sometimes it’s good to have something, even if it allows anything.
