noob: attempting round trip from existing mysql schema

Total noob beginning today …

I saved output from ‘generateChangeLog’ command and attempted to use the output as the --changeLogFile input for a subsequent ‘update’ command using a new [empty] schema. The update fails, reporting

  Migration Failed: Error executing SQL

On running the specific command in MySQL QB, I see

BLOB/TEXT column ‘xxx’ can’t have a default value

The offending column is MEDIUMTEXT. I find that this behavior is expected. See [1]. What’s up?

I’m not sure why your generated create table statement is trying to set a default value.  I created an issue for it to research more.  See http://liquibase.jira.com/browse/CORE-432
