It appears to be exceptionally easy to support JPA xml (when using hibernate). All I had to do was to replace first lines of HibernateDatabasSnapshotGenerator with:
<span type of URLs - that’s a minimal code change, but gives some benefits to the users =)

Great to hear it is straightfoward.  I added your comments to http://liquibase.jira.com/browse/CORE-37 and will get it into the codebase.
